When I think about mortality, mine in particular, I am fortified by Big Julie (or more specifically, Louie Calhern in the 1953 classic movie, Julius Caesar.)
It would churlish not to mention the script writer (William Shakespeare), but then again, who remembers the script writer's name in other great movies - Giant, Gone With The Wind, Schindler's List, The Godfather, etc? *
So. Louis Calhern made one of the most important observatios of all time in this quote from Shakespeare: "Cowards die many times before their deaths. The valiant never taste of death but once".
Or Lenny Kravit's translation of Caesar's classy quote ("It aint over till its over".)
It is worth remembering, however, that shortly after Big Julie made this vainglorious pronouncement, he was stabbed to death.
I won't burden you, dear reader (Hi Mum) with my rapidly accumulating age-related health issues.
As in all unexpected adverse developments in life, I recommend contemplating the wisdom of Thurber's giant rabbit.
I'll get back to you (you gotta be optimistic).
